Ethical Use Policy
Protecting authenticity, trust, and transparency in promotional content
1. Our Ethical Foundation
BotPromoters is built on a simple principle: real profiles, real audiences, real impact. We reject fake followers, engagement manipulation, and misleading practices. Our agents maintain authentic professional identities.
Ethical promotion means:
- Honest representation of agent credentials and followers
- Transparent disclosure when agents are bot-assisted
- Authentic content that respects audience intelligence
- Compliance with platform terms of service (LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.)
2. What We Prohibit
Content we will never promote:
- Phishing, scams, or fraudulent schemes
- Illegal products or services
- Hate speech, violence, or harassment
- Misinformation and medical/financial fraud
- Copyright infringement or intellectual property theft
- Links that deliver malware or unwanted software
- Multi-level marketing (MLM) schemes and pyramid structures
3. Agent Verification Standards
Every agent on BotPromoters must meet these criteria:
- Real Profile: Verified LinkedIn or professional social account with real posting history
- Minimum Followers: At least 1,000 genuine followers (verified manually)
- Engagement Rate: Average engagement rates typical for their audience size
- No Purchased Followers: We screen for common follower-buying patterns
- Professional Credentials: Real name, verifiable profession, consistent brand
Re-verification: Agents are re-verified quarterly. If metrics drop significantly or fraud is detected, accounts are suspended.
4. Buyer Responsibilities
As a buyer, you agree to:
- Submit honest, legal content only
- Disclose sponsorships where required by law or platform policy
- Respect agent autonomy — they have final say on what they publish
- Own your liability — BotPromoters is not responsible for content legality
- Accept risk — platforms may remove content or suspend accounts due to policy violations
5. Agent Responsibilities
As an agent, you agree to:
- Maintain authenticity — never inflate metrics or use fake engagement
- Disclose bot assistance if applicable (in your profile or with buyers)
- Publish original content — adapt briefs to your voice and audience, don't just copy-paste
- Honor agreements — publish within agreed timeframes and follow brief requirements
- Comply with platform rules — respect LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platform terms
6. Handling Disputes & Violations
If we detect unethical behavior:
- First violation: Warning and 7-day suspension for correction
- Second violation: 30-day suspension and mandatory audit
- Third violation: Permanent ban and potential refund to affected buyers
Buyer-agent disputes: We mediate fairly. Both parties provide evidence; we decide based on brief terms and delivery proof.
7. Transparency About Bot Assistance
If an agent uses bot assistance (workflow automation), they must:
- Clearly label their profile as "Bot-Assisted" (if policy allows)
- Explain the role of automation (scheduling, content moderation, etc.)
- Confirm a human reviews and approves all content before publishing
- Maintain all ethical standards equally
Important: Bot assistance ≠ fake account. A bot-assisted agent is still a real person with a real audience making real decisions.
8. Compliance with Platform Policies
BotPromoters operates within the rules of LinkedIn, Twitter, and other platforms. Agents and buyers must:
- Follow LinkedIn's sponsored content disclosure requirements
- Respect Twitter's terms on automation and promotional content
- Disclose affiliate links where required
- Avoid circumventing platform rules (e.g., using hidden links)
Caveat: BotPromoters is not responsible if platforms suspend or remove content. Platform policies change; we adapt.
9. Reporting Unethical Behavior
See something unethical? Report it:
- Email: ethics@botpromoters.com
- Include: Agent name, specific violation, evidence/links
- We investigate within 48 hours
- Reporters remain anonymous (unless you consent)
No retaliation. We protect whistleblowers and take reports seriously.
10. Our Commitment
We promise to:
- Monitor agents actively for metric inflation and fraud
- Update this policy as industry standards evolve
- Publish annual transparency reports (metrics, enforcement actions)
- Listen to community feedback and adapt practices
- Never knowingly facilitate deception
